Hungary International Open Eger, 9-11 March 2012
Nine swimmers from the Lamont Centre swimming team took part in this Hungarian International Swimming Open from 9-11 March 2012: Ciorap Naomi; Ciorap, Samuel; Velecico, Valentin; Ciorap Ana; Prundaru Petre; Ciorap Elisei ; Romaniuc Ionel; Bologa Alexandru and Giorgiu Robert accompanied by their trainer Emese Maniu. 14 teams, over 100 swimmers from 7 countries participated.
The classes are as follows S11 = completely blind; S12-13 visually impaired. The results were as follows:
Visually Impaired athletes
S13 Naomi Ciorap: 1st place – 50m Freestyle; 100m freestyle ; 200 IM
S13 Ana Ciorap: 1st place: 100m Freestyle; 100 breastroke
2nd place: 50m Freestyle
S12 Samuel Ciorap: 1st place – 100 breaststroke; 100m backstroke;
50m freestyle; 100m freestyle ;
400m Freestyle
S11 Valentin Velecico: 1st place – 100m backstroke
S13 Petre Prundaru: 1st place – 100m freestyle; 50m freestyle
2nd place: 200 IM; 100 breastroke
S12 Elisei Ciorap : 2nd place - 100m backstroke; 100m freestyle; 50m freestyle
(13 yrs old)
S11 Alexandru Bologa: 1st place - 100 breastroke ; 400 Freestyle
(15 yrs old) 2nd place: 100m backstroke
Physical Disabilities
Ionel Romaniuc: 1st place – 100m backstroke; 400 Freestyle
2nd place - 50m freestyle; 100m freestyle
These results were very good for the team.
British International Disability Swimming Championships

Six swimmers from the Lamont Centre swimming team took part in this British International Swimming Open from 9-11 March 2012: Ciorap Naomi; Ciorap, Samuel; Velecico, Valentin; Ciorap Ana; Prundaru Petre; Ciorap Elisei; Bazdoaca Georgiana accompanied by their trainer Emese Maniu. 465 swimmers from 45 countries participated – it was like a mini World championships and a very good competition before the Paralympics. (The classes are as follows S11 = completely blind; S12-13 visually impaired). Unfortunately Valentin had just recovered from the measles and this showed in his weak results. | ![]() |
