Szombathely International Paralympic Cup

5 - 7 Iunie, 2003

Szombathely, Ungaria

In seara de vineri s-a tinut sedinta tehnica.

Slovakia Open Table Tennis Competition

October 1 - 5, 2003

Piestany, Slovakia

This international competition was a real challenge for the members of the Lamont Centre team.  We learned some things about the rules for international competitions.

There were some technical difficulties with Dacian's wheelchair, which forced him to forfeit some matches.

Although all team members played their best, they did not place in any awards.  We are looking forward to more experience, maturity and knowledge in international competitions in the future and hope to increase our standings.

This newly formed nationaL event could not have been made possible without the sponsorship received from a Rotary Club from Dundee under its 2003 President, Harrison Watson, Editor of the magazine My Weekly.  The sponsorship received ensure that the even could be staged it in the style it deserved and the participants could be provided with full board and accommodation for the duration of the event.

35 participants came to participate from all over Romania in this 2-day event.  The competitors from the Lamont Centre did very well and as a direct result of this contest, they ahve been invited to build a team to play in the national chess B League.  A first for our members!
