Competitii
in 2003
2003 is
a banner year for the Lamont Centre Sports Team. The Team
is competing in more competitions than in any previous year.
The highlight is
the Team's participation in more than 3 international competitions
in 4 different countries.
Czech
Open Table Tennis Competition
16 - 20 aprilie, 2003
Ostrava,
Czech Republic |
|
Pentru

(alergare 100 m, 800 m, aruncarea discului, greutatii, sulitei
in caminele recent renovate ale Scolii agricole. Masa s-a
luat la cantina cu autoservire a scolii. In seara de vineri
s-a tinut sedinta tehnica.

Romania
|
|
This annual international competition
comprised of 75 people from 13 individual teams including
two teams from Hungary and one from France. The competitions
included were table tennis, athletics and darts.
A highlight of
the three days was a demonstration of wheelchair tennis, which was organized by Motivation

The

placing of 4th. It was a great achievement as the
first three places were taken by teams who had a much larger
contingent.

Open Table Tennis Competition
October
1 - 5, 2003
Piestany,
Slovakia
|
|
This
international competition was a real challenge for the members
of the Lamont Centre team. We learned some things
about the rules for international competitions.
There
were some technical difficulties with Dacian's wheelchair,
which forced him to forfeit some matches.
Although
all team members played their best, they did not place in
any awards. We are looking forward to more experience,
maturity and knowledge in international competitions in
the future and hope to increase our standings.

December
12 - 13, 2003
Cluj-Napoca,
Romania

|
This
newly formed nationaL event could not have been made possible
without the sponsorship received from a Rotary Club from Dundee
under its 2003 President, Harrison Watson, Editor of the magazine
My Weekly. The sponsorship received ensure that the
even could be staged it in the style it deserved and the participants
could be provided with full board and accommodation for the
duration of the event.
35
participants came to participate from all over Romania in
this 2-day event. The competitors from the Lamont
Centre did very well and as a direct result of this contest,
they ahve been invited to build a team to play in the national
chess B League. A first for our members! |
